At Sanatmetal, we believe that alongside innovation and quality, sustainability also plays a key role in shaping the future. Environmentally conscious operations and the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) approach are not just objectives for us; they are increasingly becoming part of our daily operations.
That is why it is particularly important for us to introduce the colleagues who are actively working to ensure our technical processes are in the greatest possible harmony with sustainability principles.
In the first part of our series, we present a highly important field through one of our colleagues. Meet Dr. Diána Virág, Sanatmetal’s sustainability coordinator!
Dr. Diána Virág – sustainability coordinator
Diána joined us in November 2023 as a technical assistant, and today she supports the work of Ákos Szabó, Technical, R&D, and IIR Director, as a sustainability coordinator.
Her duties are multifaceted and largely take place behind the scenes—yet they are indispensable for ensuring the company’s operations remain transparent, regulated, and environmentally conscious.
How does her work help?
In her role, Diána coordinates between several specialized fields, supporting cooperation in areas such as:
- MDR compliance
- Research and Development (R&D)
- IIR and central technology
- on-site technical processes
Her goal is to ensure these areas operate in a coordinated manner, in compliance with regulations, while also integrating sustainability aspects.
ESG and Environmental Protection in Practice
Sustainability also appears in our site operations: whether it is waste management processes, documentation, or development proposals that support more eco-friendly operations in the long term.
Diána’s work includes:
- monitoring legislation and EU guidelines
- data processing and documentation
- preparing complex technical processes
- supporting the implementation of ESG-related corporate regulations
What makes this role truly valuable
According to Diána, the greatest challenges are complex, multi-departmental tasks that are subject to deadlines and require high precision—such as compiling technical files or device safety reports.
The greatest sense of achievement comes when a well-functioning process is born from a complex task, supporting Sanatmetal’s stable and sustainable operation in the long run.
